Kshema Mathew, MSN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with nearly three decades of nursing experience spanning psychiatric, progressive care, and medical-surgical settings. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care to adolescents, adults, and older adults through comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and individualized treatment plans. Kshema believes in partnering with patients to create a supportive, respectful environment where healing, resilience, and lasting emotional wellness can thrive.
Kshema earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Walden University after completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Grand Canyon University. During her graduate education, she completed extensive clinical training under the supervision of experienced psychiatrists and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, developing advanced skills in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, psychopharmacology, medication management, and evidence-based treatment planning. She is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and maintains certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
Kshema began her nursing career in India and Kuwait before continuing her professional journey in the United States, where she built extensive experience at AdventHealth Orlando and other outpatient psychiatric practices. For more than five years, she served as a psychiatric nurse in a 40-bed locked-inpatient behavioral health unit, providing crisis intervention, suicide risk assessments, mental status examinations, therapeutic communication, patient advocacy, and multidisciplinary treatment planning for individuals with complex psychiatric conditions. She now provides outpatient psychiatric care, conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions, and managing medications for adolescents, adults, and older adults. Her clinical interests include anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, ADHD, dementia, and other behavioral health conditions. Fluent in English, Hindi, and Arabic, Kshema is passionate about improving access to culturally responsive mental health care for diverse communities.

She takes time to understand each patient’s unique experiences and works collaboratively with patients and families to develop personalized treatment plans that reflect their goals and strengths.
