Amanda Kiddey, MSN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 10 years of experience in psychiatric nursing and mental health care. She is passionate about providing thoughtful, individualized treatment that recognizes the whole person, not simply a diagnosis or a collection of symptoms.
Amanda earned her Associate of Science in Nursing from Terra Community College, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ohio University in 2016, and her Master of Science in Nursing with a psychiatric specialty from Walden University in 2019. Her strong psychiatric nursing foundation and advanced education have shaped her comprehensive approach to mental health care.
Amanda has worked in a wide range of settings, including geriatric inpatient units, adult and adolescent inpatient units, rural outpatient clinics, a state mental hospital, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and psychiatric travel nursing. Over the years, she has cared for a diverse population ranging in age from 12 to 92. At Community Health Services in Ohio, she launched a long-acting injectable program to improve treatment adherence and outcomes while serving rural and underserved communities. She has also provided crisis intervention and substance use disorder management, and she is experienced in psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and treatment planning.
Beyond her clinical work, Amanda served on the board of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) for more than five years and has precepted PA and PMHNP students in psychiatric rotations for more than five years, helping train the next generation of mental health providers.
A particular passion of Amanda is caring for LGBTQ+ and veteran clients in an inclusive, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where people feel safe, respected, and comfortable. Her practice is grounded in holistic, patient-centered care. She takes the time to understand each person’s history, concerns, strengths, values, and goals, while considering the biological, social, and lifestyle factors that shape their mental health.
