Stephanie Rosario, Psy.D., is a Doctor of Clinical Psychology committed to providing genuine, supportive, and evidence-based care to individuals navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress, and interpersonal concerns. She provides psychotherapy services in both English and Spanish and prioritizes creating a safe, respectful environment where clients feel heard, understood, and supported throughout the therapeutic process.
Dr. Rosario earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Ponce Health Sciences University’s APA-accredited program in Ponce, Puerto Rico, along with her Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from the same institution. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. Her clinical training includes a Primary Care Psychology Certificate and a Professional Certification in Addictive Disorders and Mental Health, and she completed her APA-accredited doctoral internship through the Ponce Health Sciences University Internship Consortium, followed by an APA-accredited postdoctoral fellowship in Primary Care Mental Health Integration (PCMHI) at the VA Caribbean Health Care System in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
After completing her fellowship, Dr. Rosario relocated to Tampa, Florida, and worked as Graduate Psychologist at the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital Mental Health Clinic. There, she provided evidence-based individual psychotherapy to veterans experiencing PTSD, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, chronic pain, and insomnia, using CBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, and Behavioral Activation. She conducted comprehensive psychological evaluations, suicide risk assessments, crisis intervention, and individualized treatment planning, and collaborated closely with psychiatrists, social workers, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care for a diverse veteran population, delivering services through both in-person and telehealth platforms.
Dr. Rosario’s professional background in Puerto Rico spans a wide range of clinical settings, including case management and community outreach with Solo Por Hoy, Inc., where she supported individuals experiencing homelessness and substance use disorders in accessing housing and community resources. She has also provided individual and group therapy through the Programa de Orientación y Reeducación a Personas Agresoras (PROPA), offering domestic violence psychoeducation and problem-solving strategies, and has conducted psychodiagnostic evaluations and treatment planning across primary care, hospital, and community mental health settings in Puerto Rico. Her clinical interests include addictions and substance abuse, anger management, child and adolescent therapy, and geriatric counseling, and she brings additional training in Gestalt Therapy, Solution-Focused Psychotherapy, and Trauma-Focused CBT.
Dr. Rosario’s therapeutic style is genuine and supportive, with an emphasis on prioritizing the well-being and individual needs of her clients. She works collaboratively with each person to help them develop practical skills, strategies, and tools they can carry with them beyond the therapeutic process, drawing on her specialization in CBT, ACT, and short-term treatment to guide clients toward lasting emotional stability and growth.
