Jessica Calabro, MS is a mental health counselor intern. She earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of North Florida. She earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Stetson University, Florida. She is currently working towards licensure in the state of Florida. She has experience working with adults, adolescents, and children in inpatient and outpatient settings. She gained experience providing psychotherapy to clients with trauma, addiction, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, depression, and anxiety.  

Jessica has training in Expressive arts and Sand tray therapies. Sand tray therapy operates around the belief that clients can heal themselves if they are provided a safe, accepting, and nonjudgmental space. Clients create a world within the tray using various items, while the therapist takes on the role of the observer to understand their world and perspective. Sand tray therapy helps increase emotional expression while reducing the psychological distress that may come from discussing traumatic experiences.  

Additionally, she is trained in play therapy techniques and the language of children. Jessica is certified in providing Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Prepare-Enrich assessments as well. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic interventions, such as person-centered, solution-focused, and experiential therapies. As a counselor, she is genuine and collaborative in her approach to clients.
