Amir Faghfoory, M.D. (or “Dr. F”, as he is known to his colleagues and patients) is an American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology certified psychiatrist. Over the course of his practice for 15 years he has provided a safe, supportive environment in which he attentively and empathetically listens to his patients. He works with his patients in a collaborative effort to help them meet their treatment goals.
After completing his medical training at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, D.C., Dr. F relocated to Los Angeles, where he completed his Psychiatry Residency training at the world-renowned Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Los Angeles and received the Judd Marmor Faculty Award in recognition of clinical excellence in teaching medical students and physicians-in-training.
Dr. F has worked in federal, state, and county government settings, in private practice, correctional settings, emergency rooms, and in inpatient hospitals. Dr. F has also had the honor of working with our nation’s veterans in the Department of Psychiatry at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in West Los Angeles. He is also an advocate of woman and works at raising awareness for women’s mental health concerns.
Dr. F also makes use of his extensive background in computers and Information Technology to work with patients remotely in the efficient and far-reaching field of Telepsychiatry, having consulted on patients in various settings throughout his career.
In his free time, he enjoys time at the gym, being in nature, reflecting on his patients and sharing these reflections with them, and studying several languages.
