Alexandra was in the Air Force and Air National Guard for a combined total of 13 years. As a military medic, she was able to work at the VA on drill weekends and work at community mental health as an LPN during the week while going to school to pursue her RN degree. She graduated with her RN degree at Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek MI and completed her BSN at The University of Southern Indiana and her MSN was completed at Jacksonville University.
She has an extensive background in nursing for 15 years consisting of intensive care nursing in Bronson Hospital, Battle Creek Michigan, Spectrum Hospital Lansing Michigan, and Saint Vincent’s Hospital. She most recently worked in perioperative nursing in the heart/neuro/vascular surgical unit at UF Health in Gainesville for the last eight years as a board-certified post-anesthesia care nurse. Her passion for psychiatric nursing continues to grow and is a central component in all levels of nursing care. She has been able to enhance her assessment skills with neurological assessments, advanced medication knowledge, and working with diverse populations and age groups.
Her goal is to treat patients and families with the respect and compassion they deserve while observing the most efficacious prescribing standards to assist patients in obtaining the most out of life by educating and discussing all components of holistic health practices such as sleep management, stress management, therapy, social support, diet, exercise and assist them in enhancing their mental health in a positive way.
