Individual Therapy
(Now Offering Telepsychiatry Appointments)
What is Psychotherapy?
Individual therapy is also called psychotherapy, talk therapy, or counseling. It is an effective treatment option for a wide variety of emotional and mental health issues. There are many types of therapies, some that are aimed at a particular condition, and some that are used for a variety of conditions. Different types of therapy include psychoanalysis, cognitive therapy, behavior therapy, cognitive-behavior therapy, humanistic therapy, and integrative therapy. Mental health professionals who guide therapy sessions are usually psychologists, psychiatrists, licensed counselors or social workers. Therapy can be a treatment option on its own, or it can be administered together with other types of treatment, such as medication.
The individual will meet with the therapist one-on-one to resolve problems they are facing. Sessions are usually 50 minutes and personalized according to individual needs. Our patients are offered extensive psychiatric treatment options, which may include the opportunity to participate in trials of ground-breaking new treatments available through our practice; however, at this time we are not directly accepting any research patients.
