Isaac Dumay, MS, is a registered mental health counselor intern (RMHCI). He earned his bachelor’s degree in health sciences from the University of South Florida. He earned his Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University in Minnesota. He is currently working towards licensure in the state of Florida.
He has experience working with adults, adolescents, and children in outpatient settings. He gained experience providing psychotherapy to clients with trauma, relationship issues, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, depression, and anxiety. Isaac has training in Narrative and CBT therapies. Narrative therapy focuses on the events that occur over time in a person’s life and views them as stories. These significant stories, usually stemming from negative events, can ultimately shape one’s identity. Beyond this identity, the narrative therapist views a client’s life as multitiered and full of possibilities that are just waiting to be discovered. Additionally, Isaac is trained in providing Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Isaac provides his clients with an inviting environment and focuses on building a safe and therapeutic alliance with them. His purpose is to provide his clients with the space to speak, grow and heal. His family is from Haiti, and he takes great pride in his unique cultural background. He speaks English and Haitian Creole.
