Shawn Michael Fox, MSW, RCSWI, is a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern with a strong foundation in integrated behavioral health and a dual academic background in psychology and social work. He earned his Master of Social Work from the University of South Florida and previously completed a master’s degree in psychology from Nova Southeastern University. Shawn is licensed in Florida as a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern and is currently completing supervision toward independent licensure.
Shawn completed his graduate field internship at the Clearwater Free Clinic, where he provided integrated mental health counseling within a primary care setting. During this time, he delivered care to more than 60 patients and completed over 900 hours of direct clinical experience, offering individual, couples, and group counseling. His training emphasized whole-person, collaborative care and included participation as both a Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training (BHWET) Scholar and an ITRE Scholar, programs focused on advancing interdisciplinary behavioral health practice and research-informed care.
In addition to his clinical work, Shawn has nearly seven years of experience as a college-level educator. He has served as an adjunct professor at the University of South Florida, University of Central Florida, and Hillsborough Community College, teaching courses in general psychology, developmental psychology, autism, ethics, and physiological psychology. This academic background enhances his clinical approach by helping clients better understand the connection between psychological concepts and meaningful, real-world behavior change.
Shawn’s therapeutic style is collaborative, practical, and evidence-based. He is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT), and Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 1). He works with children, adolescents, and adults, including individuals with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Shawn is committed to creating a supportive, empowering environment where clients feel understood, build effective coping strategies, and make meaningful, lasting changes.
