Keena Armstrong is a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a strong background in psychology, mental health counseling, and child welfare services. She earned her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in 2022, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Philosophy & Religion from Florida A&M University.
Keena brings extensive experience coordinating care and support for children and families involved in the child welfare system, with a particular focus on trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and maternal mental health. She has worked in diverse roles including dependency care coordination, domestic violence and child welfare program specialization, forensic case management, and crisis intervention.
Her therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy, empowerment, and cultural sensitivity. Keena employs evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Motivational Interviewing, delivering strengths-based, person-centered care. She is passionate about creating a safe, nurturing environment where clients’ stories are heard and healing is prioritized.
Keena specializes in supporting individuals navigating trauma, grief and loss, interpersonal conflict, and complex mental health challenges, including bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder. She is particularly devoted to child protection and maternal mental health, offering compassionate care around fertility, miscarriage, postpartum adjustment, and parenting challenges.
