Jorge Tapia, RMFTI, is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapy Intern dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families strengthen their relationships and navigate life’s challenges with clarity and confidence. He earned his Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from National University and his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Carlos Albizu University, where he developed a strong foundation in clinical theory, family systems, and culturally responsive care. His commitment to mental health is driven by a deep passion for supporting others through meaningful and lasting change.
Jorge has experience working with diverse populations across outpatient and community settings, providing therapy for individuals facing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship conflict, and major life transitions. His clinical work includes supporting couples seeking to rebuild communication, emotional intimacy, and trust, as well as helping families manage complex interpersonal dynamics. Jorge’s background also includes facilitating social skills development and behavioral support for children and adolescents, giving them a well-rounded understanding of family structures and development across the lifespan.
His therapeutic style is warm, empathetic, and collaborative. Jorge integrates Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, and Client-Centered approaches to tailor treatment to the unique needs of each client. He is especially passionate about helping clients uncover their strengths, develop healthier communication patterns, resolve conflict, and create positive, sustainable change.
