Ferquita Stokes, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over two decades of nursing experience. She began her nursing journey at Bethune Cookman College, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in psychiatric and mental health from Frontier Nursing University. She went on to complete her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), where her doctoral project focused on improving care management for individuals with generalized anxiety disorder.
Dr. Stokes provides comprehensive psychiatric care for patients across the lifespan, addressing conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, borderline personality disorder, ADHD, and adjustment disorders. Her clinical expertise includes medication management, individualized treatment planning, and delivering care through both in-person and telehealth platforms.
Her therapeutic philosophy centers on a holistic approach that values the integration of physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Dr. Stokes is dedicated to fostering a safe, collaborative, and compassionate environment where patients feel supported in their mental health journey. She combines evidence-based practices with empathy and cultural sensitivity to ensure that care is tailored to each individual’s needs.
Beyond direct patient care, Dr. Stokes has held leadership roles in nursing education as Regional Dean of Nursing and Nursing Director, where she contributed to curriculum development and faculty mentorship. She is also an active member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA), the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
