Eric Gibbs, MS is a registered mental health counselor intern (RMHCI). He earned his bachelor’s in health science with a concentration in social behavior from the University of South Florida. He earned his Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Bethune-Cookman University, Florida. He is currently working towards licensure in the state of Florida.
He has experience working with adults, adolescents, and children in inpatient and outpatient settings. He gained experience providing psychotherapy to clients with trauma, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, depression, anxiety, and schizophrenia. Eric has training in CBT and gestalt therapies. In Gestalt therapy, self-awareness and self-acceptance are considered keys to personal growth. It emphasizes creativity and collaboration in the interaction between you and your therapist and uses active techniques such as role-playing. Additionally, he is trained in play therapy techniques. Eric is trained in providing Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. He utilizes a variety of therapeutic interventions, such as person-centered, solution-focused, and experiential therapies. As a counselor, he is genuine and collaborative in his approach with clients.
