Alecia Cottrell, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She is a recent graduate of Florida State University with a Master of Social Work (MSW). She also holds a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University (specializing in behavioral studies and investigations) and an Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Texas A&M – Central Texas.
She is an Army veteran of 14 years where she served as a Medic and Pharmacy Non-Commissioned Officer and was honored by being selected as a Cadet Basic Training Instructor at West Point, New York, in 2006 and the operations and logistics Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge for Pharmacy Services in Tikrit, Iraq in 2010. She has more than ten years of experience in working with those who experience homelessness, veterans, diverse indigent populations, those who are experiencing substance abuse/dependence, multi-generational families, and children who have been exposed to abuse and neglect. Alecia has experience in case management and investigations which has allowed her to advocate for the most vulnerable in complex systems.
Alecia is a native of Alachua County, FL. She is passionate about normalizing therapy in underserved populations and connecting individuals to community resources that promote overall well-being and mental health stability. She continues to have the goal of encouraging therapeutic successes by providing a non-judgmental and empathetic environment and using client-centered therapy to empower clients to achieve long-term therapeutic goals.
