Aaron E. Carter, Psy.D., is a Doctor of Clinical Psychology dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate psychological care to individuals across the lifespan. He currently serves in a postdoctoral role at Harmony United Psychiatric Care in Broward County, Southeast Florida. Dr. Carter earned his doctorate from Spalding University and completed his APA-accredited internship at South Florida State Hospital in 2024, where he focused on forensic psychology. During his training, he provided services in diverse settings including inpatient hospitals, college counseling centers, behavioral health clinics, private practices, and youth shelters.
Dr. Carter has a broad range of clinical experience treating conditions such as trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, ADHD, autism, and substance use disorders. He has worked with both clinical and forensic populations, and has provided psychological assessments, individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and behavioral planning. In addition, he has contributed to the mental well-being of athletes as a mental health consultant in collegiate sports environments. His training also includes supervision of practicum students and participation in specialized seminars in trauma-informed care, diversity, and forensic psychology.
Dr. Carter is highly relational and values a client-centered, empathetic approach grounded in evidence-based practices. He credits his strong clinical judgment to his diverse training and professional experiences across various treatment settings. He remains passionate about empowering individuals through personalized care, fostering resilience, and supporting clients’ emotional and psychological well-being.
