Harmony United Psychiatric Care Expands Access to Mental Health Support with Virtual Group Psychotherapy for Florida Residents

Winter Garden, FL, February 2nd, 2026, Harmony United Psychiatric Care today announced the launch of group psychotherapy services delivered via secure telepsychiatry and telehealth, expanding access to evidence-based mental health care statewide for Florida residents.

Designed to complement individual therapy and increase access to care, group psychotherapy brings individuals together in a professionally guided, confidential setting where participants build skills, gain insight, and learn alongside others navigating similar challenges.

“Group psychotherapy provides a structured, clinically supported environment where connection enhances treatment outcomes,” said Dr. Adil A. Mohammed, MD, CEO and Medical Director of Harmony United Psychiatric Care. “By expanding our services through telepsychiatry, we’re able to provide Florida residents with greater access to structured, supportive care that fits their lives and schedules.”

Group psychotherapy is a clinically guided form of mental health treatment in which individuals meet regularly with a licensed therapist and peers in a structured, supportive environment. Often described as a social laboratory, group therapy allows participants to practice new skills, explore emotions, and gain perspective with real-time feedback in a safe, confidential setting.

Research from the American Psychological Association shows that group psychotherapy can be as effective as individual therapy for conditions such as anxiety, depression, and trauma, while also offering the added benefit of peer connection and shared learning.

Key benefits include:

  • Reduced isolation through shared experience
  • Skill-building supported by evidence-based techniques
  • Consistent accountability and clinical guidance
  • Opportunities to practice coping strategies in real time

All group therapy services are provided exclusively via secure, HIPAA-compliant telepsychiatry and telehealth platforms, with no in-person group sessions at this time.

This virtual model allows Florida residents, from major metropolitan areas to smaller communities, to participate from home while receiving the same standard of care delivered in traditional clinical settings.

Harmony United Psychiatric Care is currently offering a CBT for Anxiety Group, which focuses on identifying anxious thought patterns, practicing grounding and breathing techniques, and developing practical tools to manage stress. Participants engage in guided skill-building within a supportive group environment.

Additional group offerings are expected to launch as demand grows.

Florida residents interested in participating in group psychotherapy can register by calling (800) 457-4573 or by visiting hupcfl.com for availability and scheduling details.

Harmony United Psychiatric Care provides comprehensive mental health services to Florida residents through in-person psychiatry and secure telehealth. The organization is committed to expanding access to high-quality, evidence-based care delivered by licensed professionals in supportive, patient-centered environments.
