Virginia Stegall(“Ginger”) is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 35 years of experience in the mental health field. She has obtained comprehensive education which spanned 14 years. She has earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Florida in Gainesville. She also attended Gainesville Family Institute, a free-standing institute accredited by the Association for Marriage and Family Therapy to get her second license, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
She is also a qualified supervisor in the state of Florida. Her overall work experience includes supervising interns to help them get licensed in the State of Florida, MHC's and MFT's. She is a very experienced therapist. She has practiced in many areas and populations including Substance Abuse Clients, providing different therapy modalities including Individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, couples therapy, young adult, and child therapy. She has also worked with neuro-diverse populations and special populations including the blind, cognitively challenged the elderly, and the very young.
She has also engaged in public speaking engagements, and she has presented workshops to other clinicians on how to adopt more effective therapeutic practices. She was also a member of the Institutional Review Board -01 at the University of Florida for 10 years in which she evaluated and governed proposed research for its ethics, potential harm to participants, and morality.
Throughout her life, she has had many and varied experiences most of which puts her in a unique position to empathize with clients.
