Penny Leininger,A.P.R.N., PMHNP-BC, D.N.P., is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She earned her D.N.P. (Doctor of Nursing Practice) from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN. She also has her B.S.N. in Nursing from William Jewell College, Liberty, Missouri, and a B.S. in psychology and biology from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa. Her previous professional experience includes working as anR.N. in hospital inpatient psychiatric units and an APRN in community health and organized healthcare settings. She also has worked in residential treatment programs, and all these experiences have helped shape her into the provider she is today.
Penny has a compassionate, empathetic, and nonjudgmental approach to her practice. She believes in improving one's quality of life and enjoys seeing people have a positive change in their lives with treatment. She also has a collaborative approach to treatment and emphasizes listening to her clients and understanding their lives. She works with adolescents, adults, and geriatric clients.
