Nigel Poulton, LMHC, CCTP, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with nearly two decades of experience in the field of psychotherapy. He holds a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and is known for his integrative approach, utilizing evidence-based modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Process-Based CBT, and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT). He also provides clinical supervision for aspiring mental health counselors working toward licensure.

Throughout his career, Nigel has worked in a variety of settings including private practice, residential treatment centers, and correctional facilities. His clinical focus includes the treatment of anxiety disorders, trauma, process addictions, mood disorders, and relational issues. He is especially passionate about working with First Responders and Military personnel, drawing from his own background as a former Police Officer. Nigel is recognized for his empathetic, values-oriented therapeutic style, and his ability to connect with clients using a blend of compassion, humor, and genuine acceptance.

Outside of his professional work, Nigel has been married for over 42 years and enjoys spending time with his four children and two grandchildren. He maintains a healthy lifestyle through daily walks with his dog and practicing Chinese martial arts. A lifelong learner and compassionate clinician, Nigel remains deeply committed to supporting individuals on their journey toward healing and personal growth.
