Cherrie Lindsey is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, in Florida and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Tennessee. She has earned a bachelor’s degree from Valley Forge Christian College, Woodbridge, VA, and a master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA.

She has over 6 years of experience in counseling individuals, groups, and children (6-18 years). Providing individual therapy sessions to each child, the guardians (parents) are encouraged to adopt alternative strategies for discipline challenges, family time, or biblical guidance. The techniques of cognitive or dialectical behavioral therapy and play therapy are taught to the client and supported by techniques like reframing negative thoughts, identification of triggers, and relaxation methods. Clients are encouraged to practice at home using worksheets, reading, games, exercise activities, and scholastic materials.

Ms. Lindsey’s experience includes treating children with behavioral challenges; trauma-based cognitive behavioral therapy and mental health personality disorders; youth and adults with dual diagnoses (addictions and problematic substance use). Working collaboratively is key to presenting the client with a holistic treatment plan and services through each provider within Harmony United. Providing a comprehensive treatment service that supports the patient’s success is key to long-term behavioral, emotional/social balance. Ms. Lindsey’s knowledge of mental health issues and their impact on the whole person are pivotal to improved mental health. Her experience as a helper spans years prior to academic accomplishments as a lay volunteer serving churches, community agencies for domestic violence, parenting, and child protective agencies. Ms. Lindsey’s ability to remain flexible, maintain a professional attitude, and present genuine regard to each client opens the door to deep therapeutic alliances.
